ABOUT Randwick Equine Centre

REC Equine Specialists, formerly Randwick Equine Centre (PE Sykes & Partners), is a purely equine practice with over twenty veterinarians. The practice services a wide range of horses and ponies, from miniature to elite race and sport horses. Although we have a proud history and extensive experience servicing the Thoroughbred racing industry, a wide array of breeds and conditions are treated on a daily basis.  We have a purpose built hospital facility located at Horsley Park, just a stone’s throw from the Sydney Equestrian Centre.

The state-of-the-art hospital is set on 5 acres and includes a modern surgery with dedicated anaesthesia induction and recovery rooms, three operating theatres and equipment for general, arthroscopic, laparoscopic and laser surgery. Our diagnostic imaging includes digital radiography, ultrasonography and nuclear scintigraphy as well as video-endoscopy (airway, stomach and urogenital). And our Computed tomography (CT) unit will soon be operational. We also have full medical diagnostic facilities including an onsite laboratory (Equine Diagnostic Laboratories)  for expert and rapid pathology testing. The practice has a committed philosophy of maintaining the very latest and highest quality diagnostic and treatment equipment, to provide the best care that veterinary medicine can offer.

The partners and associates include specialists in the fields of surgery, anaesthesia and medicine, with the practice providing a surgical and medical referral service (including out of hours emergencies) for many veterinarians both in NSW and interstate.

We also work to train the veterinarians and nurses of the future, with students coming from around the world for practical experience in our clinic. Placements are available year round for nursing, veterinary or pre-veterinary students – please contact the practice if you would like to arrange a visit and spend some time with us.
