Archibald Racing, led by multiple Group 1-winning trainers Annabel & Rob Archibald, is seeking a talented and dedicated Assistant Trainer to join our team at our state-of-the-art Scone facility in the heart of the Hunter Valley, NSW.

About Us
Archibald Racing is a leading thoroughbred stable, currently sitting 2nd in the NSW Trainers Premiership, with regular runners around the state. Our 80 boxes in Scone complement our Warwick Farm base, providing an ideal, quieter environment for training horses with excellent facilities and a brand new poly track.

As Assistant Trainer at Scone, you’ll play a key hands-on role in the day-to-day management and development of our thoroughbreds.
Responsibilities include:

Management of daily operations and implementing worklists
Liaise with vets and farriers daily and be responsible for maintaining horse treatment records in line with the Australian Rules of Racing.
Follow the systems already put in place to ensure smooth running of the stable
Horse husbandry skills and recognising injuries or illnesses to ensure correct treatment
Co-ordinate transport logistics for the stable for paddock movements, races, trials etc
Co-ordinate with Foreman's for external supplies such as hay and feed orders
Represent the stable at race meetings and barrier trials
Assist in owner reports and horse progress updates
Manage a team of 25 staff and lead by example

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience looking to step up in a high-profile, ambitious stable with a proven track record.

What We’re Looking For;
Previous experience as a Head Foreman or Assistant Trainer
Confident in handling young horses, particularly colts as our yearlings will begin their early journey through the stable
Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Rules of Racing
High standards with cleanliness and presentation
Good attention to detail
Excellent team player and leader
