Join Silverdale Academy’s Schools Industry Career Tours and experience a unique behind-the-scenes journey into one of Australia’s most exciting industries.
Designed for students in Years 9–12, these immersive day programs introduce young people to the many careers, study pathways, and employment opportunities available within the thoroughbred industry.
Delivered in partnership with RIEP (Regional Industry Education Partnerships), these tours connect students directly with industry professionals, employers, and training providers to help them explore future career options after school.
What You’ll Experience
Students will gain exclusive access to leading thoroughbred racing and breeding facilities while hearing firsthand from people working in the industry every day.
Highlights may include:
- Guided tours of racecourses and training facilities
- Visits to thoroughbred breeding and spelling farms
- Career conversations with trainers, stable staff, veterinarians, farriers, stewards, racecourse managers, marketing professionals, bloodstock agents and breeders
- Behind-the-scenes access to facilities not normally open to the public
- Information on apprenticeships, traineeships, vocational education and university pathways
- Opportunities to meet young industry participants who have successfully transitioned from school into employment
