Broodmare Foreman

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Broodmare Foreman to join the team at Milburn Creek. We are looking for a reliable and capable horse person who is passionate about thoroughbred breeding and takes pride in maintaining high standards of horse care and farm presentation.
Working within a professional and progressive environment, the successful applicant will play an important role in the daily management of broodmares and foals across all stages of the year.
This position would suit a hands on person with a sound knowledge of thoroughbred broodmare management wanting to step up to a management position.

Daily care and supervision of broodmares and foals.
Assist with foalings and breeding operations.
Monitoring horse health.
Handling veterinary, farriery and routine farm procedures.
Maintaining accurate records and high standards of horse husbandry.
Assisting with staff supervision and daily farm organisation.
Supporting yearling preparation and general stud duties when required.

Previous experience working on a thoroughbred breeding farm.
Strong horse handling skills and confidence working around mares and foals.
Good communication and record keeping skills.
Good attention to detail with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
A calm and reliable manner.
Experienced with foalings, highly regarded.
