Bellapin Pty Limited, (Baramul Stud) located in the Widden Valley of NSW, is seeking applications for the following full-time position:

Horse Trainer/Breeding – Duties will include:

· Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses

· Training broodmares, foals and weanlings to accept equipment used around the farm

· Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals

· Training and preparing horses for major sales, including

o Teaching horses to be groomed and accept bridle, head collar, rug etc

o Educating horses to become accustomed to the feel of equipment and human contact

o Re-educating horses as required

o Teaching horses to walk, stand and parade correctly

· Supervision of staff where required

· Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy

· Assisting Veterinarians in attending to medical and health needs of horses as required

Essential Criteria

· A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years professional experience educating and training horses

· A minimum of two years’ experience handling and working with and educating thoroughbred horses

· Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including stallions, sales or breeding

· Proven ability to train and educate young horses

· For the management positions the suitable applicant will require extensive evidence of managing a team and breeding operation
