Job Description
M J & D J O’Donnell T/A Fairhill Farm Partnership is seeking a highly motivated and adaptive individual to join our growing team as a full-time Horse Trainer/Breeding.
Job Responsibilities
Horse Trainer/Breeding - Duties will include:
Training youngstock including weanlings and yearlings for sale.
Overseeing daily care and supervision of breeding horses
Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproductive examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals.
Monitoring mare pregnancies and attending to all needs as required
Assisting Veterinarians in attending to medical and health needs of horses as required.

Job Requirements
Essential Criteria:
A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years professional experience educating and training horses
A minimum of two years' experience handling and working with and educating thoroughbred horses
Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including mares and yearling
Proven ability to train and educate young horses
The suitable applicant will require evidence of managing a small team during the season
Oral and written communication skills sufficient to provide information and advice to others and prepare reports
Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of horses.
