Job Description
Arrowfield Stud and Training Centre are currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join our team for the role of role Horse Trainer/Breeding-Foreperson. Position is full-time and available in Scone NSW.
This is a full-time position, and the suitable applicant will need to commit to a minimum of two-years employment.

Job Responsibilities
• Training and educating young stock and yearlings
• Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
• Preparing and educate young stock for sale and attending sales where required
• Manage people and performance under direction of the Manager
• Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
• Monitoring and handling of mares imminently in foal
• Foaling, including pre- and post-natal care of broodmares and foals
• Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination and administering medical treatment to foals
• Undertake early education and training of foals
• Ensure a safe workplace
• Assist Veterinarians in attending to medical and health needs of horses as required
• Assist Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
Job Requirements
• A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years’ professional full-time experience educating and training horses
• A minimum of two years’ equivalent full-time experience handling and working with and educating thoroughbred horses
• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including young stock and yearling sales or breeding
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction; provide information and advice to others and prepare basic reports
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
