Job Description
Horse Trainer – FULL-TIME
Arrowfield Stud and Training Centre are currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join our team. Position is full-time and available in Scone NSW.
Job Responsibilities
Horse Trainer/Rider
Duties will include:
• Able to ride 6 -10 horses per morning (with particular emphasis on riding pace/timed work and jump outs)
• Ability to train and educate young stock and ride timed work
• Re-educating horses
• Daily management and education of horses for racing
The salary will be above award – in the range of $76,500 to $82,500 per annum depending upon the level of responsibility.

Job Requirements
Essential Skills:
All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role, or at least 2 years full time highly relevant experience and a relevant qualification.
In addition, the following will be required:
• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred breeding and yearlings and racing
• Knowledge, skills and experience of stable management and preparation of horses for breeding and sale
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
• Proven ability to manage a small team
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of thoroughbreds
