Stable Staff

Archibald Racing is seeking experienced Stable Staff to join our growing team across multiple locations:

Warwick Farm, NSW (Sydney)
Scone, NSW (Regional NSW)
Eagle Farm, QLD (Brisbane)

We have full-time opportunities available for motivated horsepeople looking to work in a professional racing stable environment.

Positions are available for both long-term career-minded applicants and experienced Working Holiday Visa holders. Our Scone stable qualifies for eligible regional work requirements (88 days).

Off-site shared staff accommodation may be available to rent, subject to availability.

Stable Staff
- Provide a high standard of daily horse care
- Feed, water and hay horses
- Clean boxes, barns and yards
- Monitor horse health and wellbeing
- Prepare horses for trackwork
- Maintain tack, rugs and stable equipment
- Attend race days and barrier trials
- Assist with horse transport and race day operations
- Load and unload walkers

Stablehand / Riders
- Ride horses in daily trackwork
- Ride pace work, gallops and jump-outs as directed
- Provide feedback on horse performance and behaviour
- Assist with horse care and general stable duties
- Attend barrier trials and race meetings as required

Previous experience working in a thoroughbred racing stable
Strong horse handling skills and understanding of horse welfare
For rider positions, the ability to ride timed gallops and fast work is preferred
Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented
Willing to work mornings, afternoons and rostered weekends
Current Australian working rights
Current CV and contactable references

These positions are best suited to applicants with racing stable experience and are not suitable for applicants with no horse industry background.
