Stablehand & Trackwork Rider Positions Available at Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing, Sydney, Australia

This is an opportunity to be at the heart of Australian racing, working with top-tier horses and a dedicated team in a vibrant and high-energy environment. We are looking for skilled and passionate Stablehands and Trackwork Riders to join our team in Sydney.

Job Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Riding Work: Showcase your riding expertise by putting our thoroughbreds through their paces on the track.

Health and Welfare: You'll be the eyes and ears of the stable, conducting routine health checks, monitoring the welfare of our horses, and reporting any signs of injury or illness to management.

Stable Management: You'll play a key role in the daily operations of the stable, assisting with feeding, mucking out, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment for both horses and staff.

Race Day Action: Experience the thrill of race day by accompanying our horses to race meetings and trials.

Job Requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

Has proven hands on experience with horses.

Possesses an exceptional work ethic and a passion for thoroughbred racing.

Is a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Is reliable and punctual, understanding the demanding schedule of a racing stable.

Is committed to upholding the highest standards of animal welfare and stable safety.

Your Full-Time Roster:

Our stable operates seven days a week, and the successful candidate will work the following hours:

Monday to Friday: 4:00 am - 9:30 am & 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Saturday: 4:00 am - 9:30 am & 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Sunday: 4:30 am - 8:30 am & 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Staff work a fortnightly roster, with one weekday afternoon and a Saturday afternoon and Sunday off per fortnight
