Full-time Stud Hand

Due to one of our staff members leaving to travel the globe, a position has become available at MVL/Wakefield for an immediate start.

This role requires you to work across our two farms, Middlebrook Valley Lodge and Wakefield Stud. We have a small, hands-on team, and this is an all-encompassing role where you will be rewarded by helping to raise quality bloodstock, whilst gaining valuable knowledge from a management team experienced in all aspects of the industry. Coming on board in time to complete the breeding the season and kick-start yearling preparation for Magic Millions and Inglis Classic, you’ll need to hit the ground running!

Your own single accommodation is supplied.

The role:
Feeding and monitoring horses.
Assisting with vetting and farrier work.
Working with mares and foals, weanlings/yearlings and spellers across both our farms.
Sales preparation for all major sales.
General farm duties when required.

You have:
Experience, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
Strong attention to detail.
The ability to work safely in both a small team and independently.
Great communication and record-keeping skills.
Punctuality and reliability.
The desire to learn and further your career.
