Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Stud Manager to join a highly successful thoroughbred operation in Scone, in the Hunter Valley.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of the horses and staff, while maintaining the highest standards of horse care, safety, and presentation.
Job Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of the farm's daily equine operations.
• Manage both wet and dry mares, weanlings, yearlings, and spellers.
• Monitor horse health, nutrition, and welfare, and maintain appropriate records.
• Supervise and lead farm staff, including rostering and mentoring.
• Coordinate transport, veterinary and farrier schedules.
• Consult with service providers and industry stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Job Requirements
• Previous experience managing a thoroughbred stud.
• Proven leadership and staff management experience.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, including time management.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• High attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Strong horsemanship skills and a sound understanding of broodmare and young horse management.
