Position: Horticulture Trainee
Location: Silverdale Farm, Southern Highlands, NSW
Type: Full-time Traineeship (12-24 months)
Start Date: Immediate start available – commence TAFE studies in 2025 / or continue current studies
Accommodation: On-farm accommodation available if required

Job Responsibilities
• Learning to plant, prune, and care for a variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Gaining hands-on experience in irrigation systems, soil health, pest control, and sustainable farming practices.
• Supporting farm management in ensuring the grounds remain aesthetically pleasing and functional for all aspects of the farm’s operations.
• Participating in general farm duties and maintaining tools and equipment related to horticulture.

Job Requirements
• Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to the values of sustainability and care for the environment.
• Previous experience in horticulture/garden care is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
• Have a commitment to undertake TAFE NSW study and complete education - CERTIII or other qualification.
