Yearling Preparation Team Member

Milburn Creek is seeking someone who has a strong background in thoroughbred handling and yearling preparation, with an eye for detail and a genuine passion for producing horses to a high standard. We are a farm large enough to be significant, but small enough to provide true individual care.

Position commencing October 2026

Working as part of our experienced yearling team, you will be involved in the preparation of our quality drafts of yearlings for the major Australian Yearling Sales.

Daily handling, exercising, leading and presentation of yearlings.
Grooming , washing and sales preparation.
Care and maintenance of horses to a high standard.
Working closely with the wider stud, veterinary and farriery support.
Maintaining high standard of stable and yard presentation.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a proven experience with thoroughbred horses or is confident handling young horses on the ground.
Has excellent attention to detail.
Takes pride at presenting horses at their very best.
Is reliable, professional and works well in a team.
Has good communication and record keeping skills.
Understands the importance of horse welfare and individual care.
Has a positive, energetic attitude and a strong work ethic.
