Equine Truck Driver

Yulong Stud is experiencing an exciting period of growth, and with the addition of a new horse truck to our fleet, we’re seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team at our prestigious stud farm in Nagambie, Victoria.

This full-time role offers a great opportunity for someone with a passion for the thoroughbred industry to play a key part in transporting horses safely and efficiently. You’ll be working Monday to Friday with rotating weekends, and occasional overtime will be required during the busy breeding season. On days without scheduled movements, you’ll assist with general stud duties.

Your duties would include but not be limited to:

• Transporting horses safely and efficiently between farms, veterinary clinics, and other locations.
• Assisting stud staff with preparation for loading the horses onto the Vehicle.
• Assisting stud staff with leading the horses on and off the vehicle safely.
• Ensuring regular or scheduled breaks are taken as requested and reporting signs of illness or injury during or after travelling.
• Maintaining accurate Truck Logbooks and ensuring all documentation is up to date.
• Keeping the truck clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
• Reporting any vehicle incidents, defects, or maintenance needs promptly.
• Assisting with general stud duties, when there are no scheduled horse movements.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience safely transporting horses in heavy vehicles, with a strong focus on horse welfare.
• A clean driving record with a strong understanding of the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations.
• Hold a valid Heavy Vehicle licence, minimum class being Medium Rigid.
• Proven experience handling horses of all ages and genders.
• A reliable, safe and hardworking nature with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, well-presented attitude.
• Undertake long-distance travel as required.
