Job Description
Starting at the end of July 2025 and reporting to the Stud Manager, you will play an important role in our foaling unit. This is a great opportunity to work with a large team of experienced and passionate horse people included but not limited to managerial staff, veterinarians, senior foaling attendants and veterinary nurses.
Job Responsibilities
Your duties would include but not be limited to:
- Monitor mares closely for signs of foaling and provide assistance during delivery.
- Deliver foals safely and provide appropriate pre- and post-natal care to both mare and foal.
- Identify when a foaling is not progressing as expected and immediately notify the manager and/or veterinarian for urgent assistance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all foaling's.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of all provided equipment.
- Administration of treatments and assist with equine nutrition and administer according to instructions by the manager.
- Pick and maintain cleanliness of yards, stables and foaling paddocks.

Job Requirements
To be successful, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum experience of at least one year foaling mares and monitoring foals post birth.
- Experience administering treatments IV, IM and Orally.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Well-organised, with the ability to work calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Reliable and with a great work ethic.
- An eye for detail and ability to communicate clearly.
- Driver’s licence required.
- Eligible to work in Australia.
At the end of the breeding season, there may be opportunities to work in other areas of the stud, such as yearling prep and Stud Hand Roles.
This is a casual position, shared accommodation and attractive rate will be available to the successful candidate, dependant on experience.
