Blue Gum Farm is seeking enthusiastic and motivated applicants to join our Stallion & Breeding Shed Team for the 2026 breeding season.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience working with a progressive stallion roster and within a professional breeding shed environment.

As Blue Gum Farm continues to grow, we’re looking for passionate team members who are eager to develop their skills and become part of a dedicated and supportive team.

Position Details

• Commencing early to mid-August 2026 through to the end of January 2027.
• Opportunities may be available for successful applicants to remain with the farm for yearling preparation and attendance at major yearling sales.
• Accommodation available.
• Attractive roster.

Key Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:
• General stud duties.
• Daily care of stallions, including feeding, rugging, exercising and preparing horses for client inspections.
• Assisting in the breeding shed, including teasing mares, preparing mares for cover, holding mares and handling stallions during coverings.

Requirements

• Previous horse handling experience is essential.
• Experience working with stallions and/or in a breeding shed is highly regarded but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidates.
• Ability to work flexible hours during the breeding season.
