As our equine division continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Equine Business Development Manager to help shape the future of our equine businesses. About the Role
This is a highly relationship focused role that combines business development, key account management and strategic growth. You will work closely with our equine clinics, hospital teams and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities, strengthen client engagement and support the ongoing growth of our equine services.
You will build trusted relationships with studs, breeders, trainers, owners and industry partners while working alongside our veterinarians and clinic teams to align customer needs with service delivery and business objectives.
This position is based in Victoria and will require regular travel across Apiam’s equine clinics and client sites.

Set on 2200 hectares, 10 mins north of Scone, Cressfield is a Thoroughbred breeding enterprise incorporating lucerne hay and beef cattle enterprises managed under regenerative agriculture principles.
Reporting to the Farming manager the role will include:
• Irrigation and stock water system operation and maintenance
• Farm Machinery operation and maintenance
• Lucerne hay and silage making across 50 hectares
• Fencing and general farm maintenance
• Cattle husbandry for 250 Angus breeders
The successful applicant will have a passion for agriculture, a willingness to learn and show attention to detail. Being able to work individually as well as part of a small established team is crucial. Some farming experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Luskin Park is the spelling and pre-training arm of multiple Group 1-winning stable, Matthew C. Smith Racing.
The farm is conveniently located in the lower Hunter Valley only 15 minutes from the Hunter Expressway, 20 minutes from Maitland and 50 minutes from Newcastle Airport.
This position can be ride-only Monday to Friday mornings or alternatively a full-time ride and stable hand position.
Riders start at 6am and are generally finished by 10am. You can expect to ride between 6-10 horses each morning, using a combination of facilities, including our 50m x 80m purpose-built exercise arena and 500m deep sand track.
An attractive per ride rate is on offer and additional stud/stable hand work is available if you are looking to pick up extra hours.
Accommodation can be arranged for the right applicant.
Previous experience riding thoroughbred pre-trainers or trackwork is favourable. A background in performance horses will also be strongly considered.

This is a hands on role suited to someone who is already a confident, capable horse handler and can work safely and competently with broodmares, foals and young thoroughbreds.
Duties will include:
Daily care, feeding and checking of broodmares, foals and young stock
Handling mares and foals during the breeding season
Assisting with horse movements and breeding procedures
Assisting vets and farriers
Administering treatments and medications
Monitoring horse health and identifying injuries or concerns
Handling and educating foals, weanlings and yearlings
Progressing into yearling sales preparation, including grooming, washing, hand walking, parade practice and stable duties
General stud and farm duties as required
Applicants must have:
Strong practical horse handling skills
Previous experience working with thoroughbreds, breeding stock or young horses
Confidence handling young and sometimes difficult horses
Good knowledge of general horse care and health
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A reliable, hardworking attitude and good attention to detail
Excellent English speaking and listening skills
A current driver’s licence and valid visa to work in Australia
A minimum commitment of 4+ months is required, with preference given to applicants able to remain through the breeding and yearling preparation season.
