The Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) is one of Queensland’s premier provincial racing clubs and the proud operator of Clifford Park Racecourse. Established in 1861, Clifford Park is one of Australia’s oldest racing venues and remains a significant contributor to the Thoroughbred Racing Industry. The Club conducts approximately 40 race meetings annually, including iconic events such as the Weetwood Handicap and King of the Mountain, whilst also operating a growing hospitality, events and function business.
Clifford Park is home to one of the largest thoroughbred training centres in South East Queensland, servicing hundreds of horses in work each month. The Club is entering an exciting period of growth, with major infrastructure projects, venue development opportunities and the reintroduction of Harness Racing creating significant opportunities for the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Financial Controller will play a key role in the Club’s strategic direction whilst leading the day-to-day financial management of the business.

This role would particularly suit an experienced young horse person looking to gain valuable breeding and foaling experience while living and working on a progressive thoroughbred farm.
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable individual who is very experienced with horses and keen to further develop their skills within a professional and supportive breeding operation.
The Role
Initially, the successful applicant will join our foaling team, assisting with:
Monitoring mares during foaling season;
Assisting with foalings and neonatal care;
Handling mares and foals;
Stable and barn duties;
Record keeping and general stud duties;
Working alongside experienced staff and owners.
Previous foaling experience is not essential, as training and support will be provided however many years of horse handling skills is necessary.
Applicants must be confident handling horses independently and have a solid understanding of horse behaviour and safe horse husbandry practices.

• Ability to work in a team, and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
• Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills
