McEvoy Mitchell Racing is seeking a Bloodstock & Sales Manager to join our team and play a key role in the growth of our ownership base and sale of our horses. This position will be based out of our Flemington stable at the iconic Flemington Racecourse, with some travel to Ballarat.
This role combines bloodstock, sales, and client experience, supporting the acquisition of horses, managing sales campaigns, and building strong, lasting relationships with owners. The position-holder will also attend yearling sales as part of the buying bench, contributing to the sourcing and selection of horses.
The primary focus of this role is to ensure all MMR horses are fully subscribed. Working closely with the trainers, Racing Manager, and wider team, the Bloodstock & Sales Manager will coordinate the sales process from purchase through to ownership placement, while also contributing to the ongoing engagement and experience of our owners.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of Bloodstock and Sales within the business, working alongside Melbourne Cup Winning Trainers Tony & Calvin McEvoy to drive sales and client engagement with scope to contribute to the ongoing growth of the stable & our ownership base.

Farm Manager – Pre-Export Isolation

The Manager – Pre-Export Isolation is responsible for overseeing all aspects relating to the Pre Export Isolation of horses in the care of IRT.
Duties of the Manager Pre-Export Isolation role include but not limited to:
* Maintaining all bio-security regulations and Pre Export Isolation (PEI) guidelines set out by importing country.
* Monitoring and training of staff in bio-security, PEI guidelines and horse handling/welfare.
* Ensuring compliance with all bio-security and PEI guidelines (determined by country of import) by all staff on site.
* Conduct new staff inductions on horse practices and safety procedures.
* Planning, coordinating and overseeing operations at IRT Park.
* General horse management and handling.
* Staff supervision and coordination.
* Stock coordination and ordering.
* Oversee the coordination of feeding and feed plans of horses including but not limited to ordering feed and supplies.
* Monitor unwell horses, administration, and documentation of medications/treatments.
* Liaise with and coordinate all external services including veterinarians and farriers.
* Documentation of horse arrival/departure reports.
* Coordinate the set-up and clean-up of the facility.
* Assist with the recruitment of new staff
* Provide reports as requested.
* Assist with the loading/unloading of horses at the airport as required.
* Additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience handling stallions and difficult horses
* Proven experience in horse husbandry
* Proven experience in administering medications
* Proven admin and report writing skills
* Experience managing an equine quarantine facility, preferred but not required.

Horse Trainer/Breeding- Yearlings –
Duties will include:
• Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
• Educating and preparing young stock for sale
• Early education of foals and weanlings
• Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
• Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
Essential Criteria
• A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years’ professional full-time experience educating and training horses
• A minimum of two years’ equivalent full-time experience handling and working with and educating thoroughbred horses
• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including stallions, sales or breeding
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction; provide information and advice to others and prepare basic reports
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
This is a full-time position, and the suitable applicant will need to commit to a minimum of two-years employment.
