This is a role for someone with extensive, hands-on experience handling young, unbroken horses, particularly those with a background in the sales, racing or performance industry.

The role includes:
Educating and handling well-bred, unbroken weanlings and yearlings for sales preparation
Leading, grooming, and preparing horses for sales and inspections
General horse care, feeding, maintenance and farm duties

You must have:
Strong horse handling experience – especially with young, unbroken or green horses;
The ability to work safely, calmly, and confidently around valuable livestock;
A proactive, hardworking attitude and willingness to help across all areas of the farm;
Good communication, honesty and posiive teamwork skills.

Yulong is a growing thoroughbred stud based in Nagambie, Victoria. Spread over 4,000 acres and across four adjoining properties, Yulong currently has eleven resident stallions and over 700 broodmares with over 400 foals to yearlings. This role requires you to work across our two farms, Middlebrook Valley Lodge and Wakefield Stud. We have a small, hands-on team, and this is an all-encompassing role where you will be rewarded by helping to raise quality bloodstock, whilst gaining valuable knowledge from a management team experienced in all aspects of the industry. Coming on board in time to complete the breeding the season and kick-start yearling preparation for Magic Millions and Inglis Classic, you’ll need to hit the ground running!
