Watershed Farm & Bowness Stud are looking for a highly capable and confident horse handler to join our team at a busy farm located near Young, NSW to start 25th November 2025. This is a role for someone with extensive, hands-on experience handling young, unbroken horses, particularly those with a background in the breeding, racing or performance industry.

The role includes:
Educating and handling well-bred, unbroken weanlings and yearlings for sales preparation
Leading, grooming, and preparing horses for sales and inspections
General horse care, feeding, maintenance and farm duties

You must have:
Strong horse handling experience – especially with young, unbroken or green horses;
The ability to work safely, calmly, and confidently around valuable livestock;
A proactive, hardworking attitude and willingness to help across all areas of the farm;
Good communication, honesty and posiive teamwork skills.

Yulong Stud has a position within the Veterinary team of our business. Working alongside five resident Vets and four seasonal Vets, you will cover all aspects of a thoroughbred stud.

Yulong is a growing thoroughbred stud based in Nagambie, Victoria. Spread over 4,000 acres and across four adjoining properties, Yulong currently has eleven resident stallions and over 700 broodmares with over 400 foals to yearlings. Consigning yearlings at all major sales throughout Australia, and a racing team of 200 plus horses gives the Veterinarians great job variety and exposure to all aspects of the business.

We are looking for yearling team members who are positive, enthusiastic, skilled horse people who have experience with yearling preparation on a thoroughbred stud farm. You will be involved in all aspects of our yearling preparation process and attendance at sales throughout 2026 will be required.
