Assisting the Farm Manager and the Yearling Manager to prepare yearlings for the Premier Sale in the first instance and then assisting with weaning and preparing weanlings for the mid-year sales in 2026. More specifically this will involve handling, grooming, walking and observing the thoroughbreds; assisting the farrier, chiropractor, brander and the vets; assisting with the physical conditioning of foals, weanlings and yearlings including hand walking; training the yearlings – including de-sensitising, lunging, learning to walk & turn on a lead; training the yearlings to stand for conformation assessment and photographs; training the yearlings to parade for pre-sale inspections and videos/photographs. This is an assistant position so you do not have to be an expert – professional support, supervision and advice will be provided by senior farm staff.

The farm is conveniently located in the lower Hunter Valley only 15 minutes from the Hunter Expressway, 20 minutes from Maitland and 50 minutes from Newcastle Airport.

As a member of the Luskin Park team, you’ll get the chance to develop your horse husbandry skills and knowledge of racing, pre-training and spelling.

Position one- we are seeking a groom to take care of the daily needs of performance horses. Experience with performance horses is absolutely vital. Not racehorses. Feeding/rugging/ poo picking paddocks etc.

Position two- We are seeking a maintenance person to mow lawns , general duties around a property. Experience in farm equipment essential.

This would suit a couple as accommodation in a caravan will be shared. Accommodation included. Drivers licence needed and driving a manual vehicle.

A stud hand is required for a broodmare farm in Scone.

Duties include but not limited to:
• Handling mares, foals and yearlings
• Assisting vets, farriers and other industry professionals as required
• Conducting feed runs
• Administering treatments and basic would care
• Assisting with the preparation of yearlings and weanlings
• Attendance at sales as required

Experience preferred although training can be provided for the right candidate.

Essential skills:

Roster is 11 on/3 off

Role and remuneration will be commensurate with experience.

Ciaron Maher Racing is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join our team. Positions are full-time and available in all locations in NSW and Victoria, including regional locations.
• Young Horse Trainer/Rider – able to ride 8 -10 horses per morning with particular emphasis on riding pace/timed work and jump outs.
• Horse Trainer/2nd Foreperson – able to educate our young horses on the ground, plus responsibility for a team and barn or horses.

Morton Racing located at Ascot Race Course are looking for an experienced track work rider and stable hand/HR truck driver to join the team.

Track work rider hours are 4.30am to 7.30am Monday to Saturday with the option for additional hours strapping or in the stable.

Truck Driver hours are 4.30 am to 7.30 am Monday to Saturday with the option for additional stable work and some additional driving.

Stable hand hours are 4am to 9am Monday to Saturday plus 3 afternoon shifts per week 3pm to 5pm. Sundays shifts are rotated between staff.

We can provide accomodation and be flexible on hours for the right person.

Confident and experienced yearling leaders required for Australias biggest yearling sale 13th – 18th January with further opportunities available at future sales for successful applicants.

Organise and feed the animals/horses on the farm daily. (5-6 days) order feed, cut chaff, muck out stables, spray weeds, make up feeds, some fence maintenance. Be a long-term good team player. Also possibly attend upcoming yearling sales in March and April.

Fairhill Farm is a boutique Thoroughbred breeding farm based in the Lower Hunter Valley. We have a small working team, that work closely together covering all aspects of stud and farm duties.

This is a full time position that will include daily care of horses, including feeding and health checks of Broodmares, foals, yearlings and spellers.

The position will also include assisting to prepare horses for the upcoming sales, both yearling and weanling.

This position will report to the Manager.

Archibald Racing is expanding and seeking an enthusiastic, driven Sales Executive to join the team at Warwick Farm. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to build a long-term career within one of Australia’s leading racing operations.

You will work closely with senior team members across sales, bloodstock, and owner relations, while also attending major racing events. No two days will be the same — mornings at trackwork, days in the office, and regular attendance at race days, trials, and sales.

The role plays a key part in driving new business, strengthening owner relationships, and representing Archibald Racing across the industry.

MUST:
– Have extensive experience with young horses, including colts (yearling prep an advantage)
– Have an eye for detail
– Be fit & strong, with the ability to clean boxes
– Work well, both within a small team & unsupervised at times
– Be reliable & have references
ROLE:
– Jan & Feb will be yearling prep
– Mar to June is weaning & weanling prep
– Monday to Friday (Sat if needed)
– Hours are 6am to 2pm +/-
– Term 1/12/2025 to 30/6/2026 with possibility to start immediately
– Can be ongoing/full time for the right person
– Role can be broken down to suit 88 day visa, just commit to Jan & Feb or March to June
