We are seeking an experienced and motivated Second-in-Charge (2IC) to join our privately owned boutique racing, breaking and pre-training facility in Central South East Queensland.
This is a hands-on role suited to a confident horseperson with strong leadership ability, excellent animal husbandry skills, and previous experience within a professional racing or pre-training environment.

North Bloodstock, located 12 minutes from Scone, are seeking an experience Stud Hand.

While previous experience working with mares and foals is preferred as we ideally need a senior staff member, it is not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided, and you will be supported by an experienced team committed to helping you develop your skills and grow within the industry.

This is a full-time role, and salary will be based on experience. Accommodation within the town of Scone can be provided if required.

Cressfield, a 1,400 hectare premier thoroughbred stud located near Scone, NSW, is seeking a full -time Fencer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can operate both independently and within a small team.

Young Horse Trainer/Rider – able to ride 8 -10 horses per morning (with particular emphasis on riding pace/timed work and jump outs)
Young Horse Trainer/2nd Foreperson – able to educate our young horses on the ground, plus responsibility for a team and barn or horses.

Essential Skills:
All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role, or at least 2 years full time highly relevant experience and a relevant qualification.

• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses
• Ability to plan and implement training regimes and feeding plans, record all horse training data and maintain horse training data and records may be required for senior roles
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
• Ability to work in a team, and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
• Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills
